The Vocational Pathway Scholarships were established in 2019 to assist school leavers who complete at least one vocational pathway programme at Unitec and then choose to commence study at Unitec in a certificate, diploma or degree level programme. The scholarship is designed to help cover education related costs and provide an opportunity to connect to various induction and mentoring opportunities.

This scholarship provides financial support and mentoring to high achieving Māori and Pasifika students during the second and third years of their Bachelor of Construction (Quantity Surveying major).
Whai Ake Māori Mentoring Opportunity - Tuakana
Māia Māori Centre here at Unitec has 15 Mentor/Tuakana paid opportunities for undergraduate (second and third-year only) students. Become a part of the Unitec whānau, help out first-year Māori students, participate in cultural activities and get paid living wage.
Advanced Energy Technology Scholarship
Te Pūkenga is participating in a national Advanced Energy Technology research and development programme in which the goal is to grow the capability and knowledge of learners in this emerging sector. Unitec and MIT are working in collaboration with a number of research organisations who are researching and developing the next generation of technology for high performance electric motors for the transport sector (aircraft, ships and trains).
The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide financial support and encourage Māori, Pacific and women learners who have an interest in this particular sector of Engineering (Electrical), who are facing disadvantage and/or inequitable access to tertiary education which would otherwise present a barrier to them studying engineering.

Rider Levett Bucknall Professional Quantity Surveyor of the Year Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support and an opportunity for a Bachelor of Construction with a major in Construction Economics student in their second or third year of study (or fourth year if studying part-time) to gain part-time work experience and potential full-time experience during all non-term times. This may continue for future years of study and upon graduation RLB may also make an offer of full-time employment.
Students completing their course in 2023 and graduating in early 2024 will also be considered.
