Your Unitec ID card gives you swipe access to most buildings around Unitec.
Students who require swipe card access to these computer labs or postgraduate spaces can apply for access.
Computer labs
The School of Computing has four computer labs that require swipe card access.
Networking labs: Building 183, Room 2001, 2002, and 2003
Capstone Projects lab: Building 183, Room 2006
Students who require swipe card access to these labs should:
- Visit Russell Archer in Building 183, Room 2031
- Or email him rarcher2@unitec.ac.nz - in the email, include your full name, Unitec student ID number, and the buildings and labs to which you would like access.
Postgraduate spaces
If you require access to any of the postgraduate spaces, email Cynthia Almeida, calmeida@unitec.ac.nz from the research office. She will arrange for your Student ID card to be activated by Security.
Hours of access are 7am to 11pm, seven days a week.
Building 183-Room 2011
Postgraduate Student Lounge/Nohonga Akonga Paerunga
This is a communal space for postgraduate students and is equipped with bean bags, a microwave and an electric kettle.
Building 183-Room 2010
Postgraduate Student Study Space/Wāhi Mahi Ākonga Paerunga
This room has dedicated study spaces, computers, lockers and a printer (please bring your own paper).
