Angela graduated from Unitec in 2002 with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. She worked for a short time in a large animal practice, and from 2003 until 2010 worked at the Unitec Veterinary Hospital, starting as a Junior Nurse, and working her way up to the role of Head Nurse with responsibility for student liaison.
In 2008 she was nominated for the Merial Outstanding in Your Field Award, which is presented by Merial, to a chosen candidate from around the country. She won this title and feels very privileged to have been chosen as the winner. Angela has a strong passion for the animal industry, and especially veterinary nursing. She is also a strong advocate for responsible pet ownership and care, and has an interest in small animal anaesthesia & client relations. She believes veterinary nurses are capable of so much more than they are currently doing in clinics here in NZ.
Angela teaches primarily on the veterinary nursing programme and is the course coordinator for Animal Husbandry (Certificate in Animal Care).
