About Eduroam

Eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. 

Eduroam is available at Unitec for visitors from other Eduroam-participating institutions.

Unitec staff and students travelling to Eduroam-participating institutions will be able to connect to secure wireless internet at no cost.

How to connect to Eduroam at Unitec 

  1. In your wifi options, connect to ‘Eduroam’
  2. Login with your home institution email address and password (for example, jsmith@university.ac.nz)
  3. Some devices may pop-up with a warning message to validate the certificate, accept and connect.

Unitec eduroam security configuration is:
Wifi Network Name: Eduroam
Wireless Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise
Encryption Type: AES

How to connect to Eduroam at other institutions

When Unitec staff and students are at other institutions that also have Eduroam.

To access Eduroam, connect to the ‘Eduroam’ wireless network at any Eduroam enabled institution.

When prompted for a username and password, enter your myUnitec email address, for example, smithj01@myunitec.ac.nz
