Unitec recognises that financial support is an important consideration for ākonga considering study. The scholarship provides both financial support and mentoring opportunities in the first year of study. Anyone who is new to Unitec and who would benefit from a little financial support, is encouraged to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- be a domestic student, i.e. a New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident;
- be enrolling for the first time at Unitec; and
- be starting in a programme from Level 3 - 8 (a certificate, diploma, undergraduate degree, postgraduate certificate or diploma) in Semester 1, 2023, which takes at least one semester of full-time study to complete.

Selection bases
Schools may have preferences that they consider when reviewing scholarship applications. These preferences are used in combination with individuals' responses to scholarship application questions and Unitec priority group goals.

- preference may be given to learners who demonstrate that financial support will have an impact on their ability to begin their tertiary studies at Unitec.
