This practical hands-on short course is designed for students seeking certification as a MIG welder and who have completed the MIG Welding intermediate course, or those who have equivalent practical experience.
Topics covered on this short course include:
- Material preparation
- Safety precautions and practice
- T-fillet welding break-over test
Upon reaching the prescribed standard students may attempt the AS/NZS 2980 certification in any of the following four positions: down-hand, horizontal-vertical, vertical, up and overhead positions. The fee for each attempt is $130.00 per test plate. Please note this fee is additional to the course fees.
This course may be taught in conjunction with TTECS069 (dependant on numbers).
Minimum Enrolment Number
If the minimum number of students to be enrolled is not reached, then Unitec reserves the right to cancel the class. Should this occur, you will be notified ahead of closure. Before you make any travel or accomodation arrangements, we recommed that you first check that your course is running. Note that this course may be taught in conjunction with TTECS069 (dependent on numbers).
