To enable the student to understand and apply a range of communication theories and concepts to diverse and dynamic environments.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Restrictions: COMM5431 and COMM5531 and COMM5537.
Topics include: 

Topics may include but are not limited to
historical development of communication / media studies, essential theories of the communication process, organisational communication, nonverbal communication,
language in communication, conflict management, power in communication, public communication, intercultural communication, ethical communication,
mass communication & media, communication technologies, gender, community media, semiotics and media analysis
