Aim: 
By the end of this course students will have developed an understanding and knowledge of the fundamental structures and vocabulary of the Japanese language. This will enable students to communicate effectively in a variety of routine contexts.

Topics include: 

Contexts
Greetings, introduction (name, family, nationality and occupation); paying someone a visit; borrowing and lending; expressing needs, likes and dislikes; describing daily activities; using question words; restaurants; sports and leisure.
Speaking
Use of basic structures in everyday situations, polite expressions, giving a short speech, conversation, leaving phone messages
Listening
Public announcements, answer phone messages, responding to simple questions, following conversations
