Please go to the respective pages below for scholarship details and information on how to apply. You may apply for any of the three scholarships you are eligible to be considered for. Each scholarship has different regulations. Please take the time to read through the regulations to find out if you are eligible to be considered for more than one of the scholarship programmes.
1. Unitec School Leavers Scholarship.
This scholarships assists secondary or kura school leavers commencing study at Unitec.
2. Unitec Vocational Pathway Scholarship
This scholarships assists school leavers who have completed at least one vocational pathway programme at Unitec and then choose to commence study at Unitec in a certificate, diploma or degree level programme.
3. Unitec Kura Kaupapa and Rumaki Reo Scholarship.
This scholarships supports and engages Kura Kaupapa and Rumaki Reo graduates into tertiary studies at Unitec. It also helps with connecting recipients with Unitec’s Māori community.

Eligibility criteria for Kura Kaupapa and Rumaki Reo Scholarships
To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

New Zealand citizen or holder of a New Zealand Permanent Resident visa

Exited from Kura Kaupapa and Rumaki Reo within the last year
-
Have submitted an application to Unitec to be admitted *full-time into a Certificate, Diploma or Degree Level programme (Level 3-8)

Must meet the entry criteria for their selected Unitec programme of study
Learners need to show:

Motivation to succeed in their chosen course.

Community Engagement: commitment to benefiting or giving back to their local and/or Unitec communities.

Reference letter from your Kura Kaupapa and Rumaki Reo.

Commitment to attending and participating in Unitec Kura Kaupapa and Rumaki Reo events and initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria for School Leaver Scholarships
To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
- New Zealand citizen or holder of a New Zealand Permanent Resident visa
- Exited secondary school or kura within the last year.
- Have submitted an application to Unitec to be admitted *full-time into a Certificate, Diploma or Degree level programme (Level 3-8)
- Must meet the entry criteria for the selected programme of study
Learners need to show:
- Motivation to succeed in their chosen course.
- Community Engagement: commitment to benefiting or giving back to their local and/or Unitec communities.
- The recommendation letter / reference letter from applicant’s School.
- In addition to the above selection criteria, preference may be given to applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Māori
- Pacific
- Disabled and Neurodiverse Learners
- First in family to pursue tertiary education
- Students residing in Tamaki Makaurau

Eligibility criteria for Unitec Vocational Pathway Scholarships.
To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
- New Zealand citizen or holder of a New Zealand Permanent Resident visa
- Exited secondary school or kura within this year or last
- Completed at least one vocational pathway programme through the Unitec Pathways College during secondary school or kura
- Have submitted an application to Unitec to be admitted full-time into a Certificate, Diploma or Degree Level programme (Level 3-8)
- Must meet the entry criteria for the selected programme of study
Learners need to show:
- Motivation to succeed in their chosen course.
- Community Engagement: commitment to benefiting or giving back to their local and/or Unitec communities.
- A recommendation letter / reference letter from applicant’s School/Kura,
- In addition to the above selection criteria, preference will be given to applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Māori
- Pacific
- Disabled and Neurodiverse Learners
- First in family to pursue tertiary education
- Students residing in Tamaki Makaurau
