Te Pūkenga recognises that financial support is essential for our ākonga in managing their study goals. The scholarship provides financial support and the opportunity to participate in industry work placement opportunities in their 2nd or 3rd year of study, organised through the Research and Industry team(s).
Applications for 2024 will open in January.

To be eligible, you must:
- be Māori or Pacific descent, or
- be a woman (assigned female at birth and/or self-identify as female); and
- be a domestic student, i.e., a New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident; and
- be enrolled or commencing study in one of the below Level 6 and above programmes: New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Electrical), Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electrical)
- have applied/ or be enrolled at MIT or Unitec.
