Profile

Lusa came to Unitec with twelve years' teaching experience at Gh. Aschi Technical University, one of the oldest and well known Universities from Romania, followed by one year research and teaching at The University of Auckland.

In 2000, she gained her PhD in Civil Engineering, Structures with a thesis in field of steel reinforced concrete.

Lusa's research focus is on reinforced concrete and steel fiber reinforced concrete materials and structures, and survey and rehabilitation of structures affected by earthquake. She has authored, with colleagues from Romania, two books in the field of reinforced concrete, and has written papers on these subjects for national and international conferences. She also worked on research contracts as leader or coauthor in various engineering areas connected with her engineering expertise.
