The Food and Beverage Technician Training Scheme covers how to apply checking and inspection techniques and selecting the correct hand tools for a task while observing health and safety standards in a production plant.
It will provide you with an introduction to health and safety legislative requirements and their application in a food and beverage plant, enable you to select and use appropriate hand tools and introduce you to mechanical fasteners. You will learn to apply various checking and inspection techniques to determine machinery conditions.

Since opening its doors to the homeless in 2016 the dedicated team at Te Puea have continued demonstrating and advocating for marae led, kaupapa Māori support initiatives for vulnerable whānau.
Lead social worker Whitiao Paul says the Manaaki Tangata E Rua transitional housing programme is based on the legacy of Te Puea Herangi and is the first of its kind in this space.

The purpose of the recent Health CareerFest was to connect students studying healthcare, social practice and nursing to key industry organisations and partners, and to offer assistance with navigating the recruitment and application process, as well as CV-writing and interview skills.
Unitec and MIT partners who participated in the online event included Auckland DHB, Counties Manukau DHB, Waitemāta DHB, Whanau Awhina Plunket, Anglican Trust Women and Children (ATWC) Putting Family First, and the Department of Corrections.

Saras, who’s from Nadi in Fiji, came to New Zealand on her own when she was just 17 years old. She credits her mother, who single-handedly raised two daughters while working full-time, with instilling in her the value of ethics, respect, setting goals and striving hard to achieve them.
“She was my absolute rock,” she says.
It was while she was following up about a role at a fast food outlet that she saw the manager rip her application in half, and from that point on she vowed that she would never let anyone do that to her again.
