Overview
Literacy & Learning is designed for adults with a learning difficulty or disability who wish to study part-time and extend their work skills.
This course is a great stepping stone providing opportunities for students to attend a tertiary education institution and aims to increase students' work-related skills, self-awareness, writing, literacy, numeracy, computer, and communication skills. It is designed to assist students develop work-related skills and help transition those interested into further tertiary education.
The course is offered twice a year (in semester one and two) on the Mount Albert Campus. It runs for 16 weeks and provides 72 hours of class time. Students attend classes on Mondays from 9.00am – 2.15pm.
Fees
An approximate domestic fee is $ 367.61
The fee you pay at enrolment covers tuition, class materials,15% GST and Student Services fee.
If you're on the Supported Living Allowance, you may be eligible for the Training Incentive Allowance (TIA) through Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) to pay for your course fees.
Note: Refunds are available only for withdrawals that take place on or before five working days of the start of the course. Unitec may be obliged to cancel a course if there are insufficient enrolments. Should this situation occur, all fees will be refunded.
Completion
All students who finish this short course will receive a certificate of completion to acknowledge their hard work and success.
