Aim: 
To enable the student to gain an understanding of electromagnetic principles and their applications in circuits and amplifiers.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Technology programme to enrol in this course. Restriction: ETEC5419.
Topics include: 

Appropriate selection from following topics
Electromagnetism and electromagnetic induction
Basic principles and applications of electromagnetism and inductance, induction laws.
AC circuits and circuit theorems
Basic principles and applications of AC power circuit theory, single and three phase circuits; Series and parallel resonant circuits; Circuit theorems, Thevenin's, Superposition,
Digital electronics
Linear operation of BJT and MOSFET amplifiers; Op-amp theory and application; Boolean logic and logic gates, combination logic.
