Aim: 
To enable students to understand construction systems suitable for low and medium density residential construction within New Zealand.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Restriction: CONS5012.
Topics include: 

Building Code requirements, Site Conditions, Proprietary and non-proprietary systems
NZS 3604 Construction Systems (foundations, floors, walls, roofs) for domestic scale project,
Building elements and components(eg, floors, roofs, windows, doors) for domestic scale projects, Building Envelope (claddings, coverings, fixings and flashings)
Anthropometrics
Access for the disabled, Domestic Hot Water, Ventilation, Sanitary plumbing, Residential energy consumption, passive alternatives
