How the programme works

We understand the difficulties of returning to formal study so we provide a ramped approach that builds the skills needed to achieve the qualification.

Your sessions at Unitec will be in blocks of two days, usually a Friday and Saturday. For each course there are two blocks of two days, separated by several weeks for doing study and projects, with tutor support available as needed.

The programme contains eight courses – made up from the two programme management courses which are compulsory, and six elective courses that you choose. Each course is worth 15 academic credits and the Diploma totals 120 credits.

Part-time students usually take two courses per semester over four semesters, totalling two years for a full Diploma.
