Education
We are dedicated to quality in education and service. At the Department of Education you study in a stimulating and supportive environment – whether you want to start a career in education or are interested in advanced professional development for teachers, educators, leaders or managers.
Our programmes acknowledge students as diverse individuals with widely differing needs. Self-reflection and critical inquiry are important aspects of your study, in all the education programmes – from an undergraduate degree in early childhood teacher education to a graduate programme for higher education teachers and postgraduate study at masters and doctoral levels.
Improving practice is a key focus of our research. Our academic staff are actively engaged in research and committed to serving their communities responsively. Their expertise covers all education sectors and a large number of research supervision areas for masters and doctoral theses. We also work closely with the New Zealand Action Research and Review Centre on site-based contracts and leadership learning programmes for education professionals.
