Choosing where to live while you are studying here at Unitec is an important decision and will depend on your personal needs and preferences.

Accommodation options include:

On campus

The Unitec Residential Village provides convenience, community and a relaxed lifestyle to New Zealand and international students.

Accommodation for students with disabilities

Unitec’s Residential Village has a number of rooms suited to students with a range of disabilities or injuries.

Homestay

If you are an international student, living with a New Zealand family or with approved family members will provide comfort, support and experience of a New Zealand lifestyle. If you are an international student under the age of 18, you will be required to live in homestay accommodation.

Off campus

Renting a room in a shared apartment or house (known as "flatting") is another off-campus option that provides independence. If you are more mature, a couple or have come to New Zealand with your family, you may like to rent a house or apartment on your own.
