Management & Marketing
We’re doers, not talkers. Applied business study is what it’s all about for us. Programmes that include real-world projects. Lecturers who have worked in the business sector themselves. Research that addresses the challenges management and marketing professionals face – such as staff retention, more sustainable supply chain management and interactive marketing.
Our staff have worked for big multi-nationals and small and medium-sized enterprises, often at management or senior management level. They’re experts in electronic and mobile commerce, human resource management, innovation and entrepreneurship, marketing, operations management and sales. They keep up-to-date with business trends – through consultancy work or membership of the Marketing Association of New Zealand, New Zealand Institute of Management, the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management, Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy, Human Resources Institute of New Zealand and other industry organisations.
Want even more business expertise? How about guest lectures from industry experts? Or meeting business leaders at industry events, the annual Grad Show or the Forum for the Future series of public debates? Let’s not forget Industry Based Learning, a chance for Bachelor of Business students to show off their skills in the workplace.
You’re in control. Part-time study, evening classes and online learning are key to many Department of Management and Marketing programmes. For postgraduate students there are weekend courses too. Our blended learning approach means you could even complete part of your study from your home (or work). And if you want to add some non-business courses to your Bachelor of Business, that’s no problem either.
