Aim: 
To provide students with a deep understanding of the principles of information security in cyber space, enabling them to analyse various phases in the Cyber Attack Cycle and plan prevention mechanisms into their network design.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Bachelor of Computing Systems programme or the Graduate Diploma in Computing programme to enrol in this course. Pre-requisites: BCS: ISCG6407 & ISCG6400 & ISCG6403. GDC: ISCG6407 & ISCG6400.
Topics include: 

Introduction to Cyber Space and IT security (1 week)
Network Security Technology and phases of Cyber Attack Cycles (2 week)
Cyber Security and types of threats and hacking toolkits (5 weeks)
Cryptography (3 weeks)
Preventing cyber attacks, and network protection systems (1 weeks)
