Unitec Department of Design and Visual Arts is committed to encouraging and supporting our students, graduates and New Zealand’s design industry. With this in mind we have established a number of design initiatives from business incubators and applied research projects to consultancy services and international design exchanges. CoDIA is their hub, providing strategic focus, knowledge transfer and a central point of contact.
CoDIA initiatives include:
- The Generator- Design business incubator for Unitec graduates that assists them to become established and sustainable
- Hothouse - Initiative bringing Unitec Design students and Businesses together to develop new services and products
- Mobile Web 2.0 - Facilitating social constructivist and authentic learning experiences.
- SHAC09 - The Sustainable Habitat Challenge (SHAC 09) is a national collaborative project for teams around New Zealand to design, develop, and build sustainable housing in their local community.
CoDIA enables know-how and good practice to be developed and shared and gives our students their greatest chance of success.
