Unitec recognised as one of Auckland’s top art schools

Our School of Creative Industries has continued its run of success at the annual Eden Arts Art Schools Award, receiving three out of the top five awards at this year's event held at Webb's Gallery, in Mt Eden last Friday, 25 October. 

This year’s success is a repeat of last year when Unitec took out three of the top five honours as well.

Last minute Super Mario-theme change helps win research excellence award

The primary aim of the challenge is to help master’s students communicate their thesis projects dynamically and concisely. 

Participants are judged on the quality of their presentation, as well as the accessibility of the narrative, communication skills, engagement, and comprehension.

Mr Wu, a Master of Applied Business student majoring in Business Analytics, won a $1,000 gift voucher with his three-minute address on Enhancing Academic Performance: A Machine Learning Approach to Predict and Raise Students' GPA. 

Hackathon winners using AI to help businesses reduce carbon footprint

 
Their winning project was a carbon footprint tracking solution, designed to help businesses educate employees on monitoring and analysing their carbon footprint, and receiving actionable recommendations on reducing it — all without compromising business performance.

Longstanding Shandong partnership celebrated

Senior leaders from Shandong Provincial Education Department and Shandong Jianzhu University met with representatives from Unitec to explore potential new areas of collaboration in fields such as Computing, Engineering, Architecture and Management.

The 10-strong delegation of officials was led by General Director of the Shandong Provincial Education Department, Li Ming, and Vice President of Shandong Jianzhu University, Professor Qiu Liping.
