International Agent Application Terms and Conditions

Please note: These terms and conditions are effective as of the 6th December 2017.

In submitting this Application on behalf of the applicant, I declare that I have discussed these terms and conditions in detail with the applicant, and we both agree to the following International Application Terms and Conditions.

1.0    Process for Studying at Unitec

1.1     I have conveyed the following information to the applicant:
- the applicant will not be able to study at Unitec until they are enrolled,
- the applicant will not be enrolled at Unitec until they have received an offer of place and then accepted that offer
- the applicant will not be enrolled until Unitec issues the applicant with a written Confirmation of Enrolment

1.2     I also understand that the applicant must satisfy all conditions required by Unitec to be satisfied and specified in any Offer of Place in a program/programme/qualification and referenced in any Offer of Enrolment unless any such conditions are waived by Unitec by notice in writing to the applicant and approved agent.

1.3     I acknowledge that there is no promise by Unitec that the applicant will be admitted or enrolled.

2.0    General

2.1   I acknowledge that I have been directly appointed by the applicant to submit their application on their behalf, and the applicant decided to apply for the programme stated on the International Application, and I am not relying on any advice from Unitec that the applicant will be admitted to a programme or that a programme is suitable for any purpose unless I received that advice in writing directly from Unitec.

2.2     Both the applicant and I agree to supply all further information required by Unitec relevant to the applicant proposed study at Unitec promptly, including, but not limited to, proof of my identity and citizenship.

2.3     Some programmes of study have particular entry requirements. The applicant and I agree that if Unitec requires the applicant to be Police vetted and/or safety checked for the Vulnerable Children Act or as otherwise required by law, I will sign all such forms prescribed or required by Unitec and participate in that process as requested in a timely manner.  The applicant also agrees to undertake any medical tests prescribed by Unitec (if any) in respect of my chosen programme/visa.

2.4     The applicant and I acknowledge that liability for any failure by Unitec is excluded where that failure has been caused by circumstances beyond the control of Unitec.

2.5     In addition to these Terms and Conditions, other terms and conditions of the applicant’s enrolment at Unitec will be specified or referred to in:
a. any Offer of Place in a programme/qualification if the applicant and I are given one;
b. any Acceptance of an Offer of Place in a programme/qualification if the applicant accepts it;
c. any Offer of Enrolment and Acceptance of the Offer of Enrolment,
d. any written Confirmation of Enrolment issued to the applicant by Unitec,

2.6     The applicant and I agree that if I want to study towards a programme/qualification different from that listed in my International Application, then the applicant and I must submit a new International Application for the programme/qualification that the applicant wishes to study.

2.7     The applicant and I acknowledge that any submission of an International Application does not mean that Unitec will still offer the programme/qualification the applicant wants to study towards when they want to study it.

2.8     The applicant and I understand that, except as required by the Education Act, accreditations for programmes/programme/qualifications may change and there is no warranty by Unitec that any particular accreditation will be attained or retained.

2.9 Sometimes Unitec has to change the course timetable or cancel a course. If this happens, Unitec will advise the applicant as soon as possible and in the case of cancellation, Unitec will try to find a suitable replacement course, or provide a refund. If the applicant wants more details on this, they can read Unitec’s Admission, Enrolment and Fees Policy.

2.10    Before submitting this applicants International Application I have provided the applicant with clear and sufficient information to enable the applicant to make an informed choice to submit their International Application to study at Unitec towards the programme/qualification specified in their International Application.
