A huge congratulations to Dr Terri-Ann Berry and her team for their “Highly Commended” in the Community Collaboration, Tāmaki Makaurau Zero Waste Awards for their project to reduce plastic use and waste in the construction industry.

It was an outstanding achivement, says Terri-Ann, there were only four prizes awarded in this category (three highly commended and one winner) with 114 nominations.

“It was a truly amazing evening with so many incredible examples of Aucklanders inspired to achieve zero waste. Our incredible team diversity and how much fun we have had whilst making such a difference - has made this super special.

“Receiving this award and its recognition was so special to our team which is uniquely multidisciplinary as well as a trans-sector approach to high impact applied research. It has taken many smaller projects, mainly run by our final year projects students in Construction, to get to this point and we are proud and thankful to them, the wider ESRC team, all at Taupapa Rangahau and our colleagues and friends at Naylor Love, Mitre 10 and Auckland Council”.
