Study Abroad - Inbound Exchange
The Study Abroad and Exchange (Inbound) programme allows you to spend a semester or two studying with us, while earning credits towards your home qualification.
If your home institution is a partner institution with Unitec, you may apply as an Inbound Exchange student. To see if this is an option for you, you should speak with your home International Office first.
Your Inbound Exchange student application must be approved by your home International Office before you can apply for the Study Abroad and Exchange programme.
If you want to study with us, you’ll need to consider the course or programme’s entry requirements:
After your application has been approved by your home institution to participate in the Study Abroad and Exchange programme, you must meet the academic requirements for Unitec’s courses that you want to enrol in.
There may be additional entry requirements for some courses and these can differ depending on the programme you’re applying for.
International students from a country where English is not the first language, and who want to study in New Zealand, must provide evidence of their English proficiency.
English is considered to be the first language of citizens of the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the United States of America, Canada and Singapore. If a student is a citizen of one of these countries, the following does not apply.
All other students need to provide evidence of one of the following:
- IELTS (Academic)
- TOEFL (iBT)
- TOEFL (pBT)
- University of Cambridge English Examinations
- Pearson’s Test of English (PTE)
