Want a career as a nurse, but don't have the traditional qualifications to start nursing training? Study in a supportive adult learning environment, and develop the skills for further study in nursing.

Have you always dreamt of a career as a nurse, but don’t have the traditional qualifications to start nursing training? This pathway provides you with a sound background in nursing and the skills to apply for Unitec’s Bachelor of Nursing programme.

Highlights

• A good basis for future nursing study: you’ll learn the basic principles associated with health and wellness and the human body, including the muscular and cardiovascular systems, microbiology, cells and genetics. You also develop your academic reading and writing skills, prepare for exams, learn to write reports and make presentations, and improve your critical-thinking skills.

• A supportive and multi-cultural adult learning environment.
• Group interaction, case studies, seminars, debates, whanau hui, oral and written exercises and self-directed learning.
• Unitec Study Award: once you've successfully completed this programme, you may be able to apply for a Unitec Study Award, which will contribute towards the cost of your fees for one semester of further study at Unitec.
