Unitec's new START Awards scholarships are specifically for students who are new to Unitec and new to tertiary study.
Unitec Study Awards
If you’re enrolled in a Unitec programme, you may be able to take up to $2,000.00 off your student fees. Unitec offers a number of Study Awards to prospective and current students.
Unitec Partner School Scholarships
Unitec is committed to developing and maintaining close, positive relationships with 24 schools – that’s why we call them our Partner Schools. We wish to offer a solid level of support to the students, staff and families of these schools. Schools can nominate students who are eligible for a Unitec Partner School Scholarship.
Postgraduate Scholarships
As a masters and doctoral student you may be eligible for Postgraduate Scholarships. The scholarship will cover the domestic fees for full-time or part-time Masters or Doctoral students. Applications closed 30 November 2011.
Whai Ake Mentoring Awards
If you’re a Unitec student and enrolled as a New Zealand Māori, you may be eligible for support through the Whai Ake Mentoring Programme offered by Unitec and Transpower. As a prospective Māori student, you can apply for a first-year scholarship worth $2,000 off your fees – there are 15 general scholarships on offer, as well as another five scholarships available to students of the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. Meanwhile, Māori students in their second year of study or above who would like to train and work as Whai Ake Mentors can apply for a $1,000 mentoring award.
International Student Scholarships
New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) are available to people from selected developing countries and cover tuition, economy air travel and a basic living allowance at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
YMCA of Auckland Young Women’s Tertiary Education Scholarship
The YMCA Auckland Young Women’s Tertiary Education Scholarship (PDF) is $3,000 for tertiary study. The intention of the Scholarship is to provide assistance with course-related costs, for example; textbooks, fees, laptop computer, course related software. It is paid in two instalments over the year. Closes 30 September 2011.
