Life on campus

Life at Unitec isn't all about study. There are lots of events, activities and clubs to get involved in. It's a great way to make friends and take a well deserved break from your studies.

Each semester starts with Orientation programme featuring a range of fun and informative events to help you settle in. Visit our Orientation page for more information.

You can join one of the many clubs or societies at Unitec or even start your own one. And if you’re after some culture, there are regular plays and dance performances by performing arts students, as well as design and visual arts exhibitions at the Mt Albert campus galleries.

Into sport and fitness? Then make use of the gym, playing fields and NZ National Squash Centre. You can even get low-cost osteopathy care at our student clinic.

Take some time out at the beautiful Te Noho Kotahitanga marae.

Student support

There are a lot of student services to help support you while you study with us.

Student services

From counselling services to the student health centre, we’re here to look after your physical and mental wellbeing. Not sure where study is taking you? Talk to the Career Centre for advice on the right pathway for you.  And if you’re a parent, just bring your little ones to our early childcare centre on the Mt Albert campus. See our Current Student section for more information on what support is available to you as a student.

Cultural support

Our dedicated Maia Māori Centre and Pacific Centre offer academic and pastoral care, as well as a support network for you and your whānau. Drop in for course advice, study workshops and mentoring services, or just for a chat. There’s also the Unitec Chaplaincy and Multi-Faith Service – a place for all students to talk about the big questions in life. See our Student Life page for more information .
