International Welcome Day

Nau mai, haere mai (welcome) to the Unitec whānau (family)!

International Welcome Day or International Orientation is compulsory to attend. It includes a series of important sessions designed to help you settle into life in Aotearoa New Zealand and prepare for your studies at Unitec. 

Welcome Day dates  

Semester 1, 2026

Time: 8:30am – 1:30pm, Wednesday 18 February 2026
Venue: AskMe Desk, Level 1, B180, Mt Albert Campus (There will be signs on the day to help you find your way)

Please complete these tasks before you attend:

1. Watch the Pre-Arrival Videos
   For information prior to your arrival, watch this video. We’ll have a quiz session on Orientation Day to check your understanding!
2. Submit the Personal NZ Local Contact & Emergency Contact Form
   This is essential for your safety and support while studying in New Zealand.
3. Need Proof of Address for a Bank Account?
   Fill out the Confirmation of Enrolment Request Form to receive a document accepted by New Zealand banks when opening a new account.
