Unitec Sports Centre
Our Sports Centre is open to the community and the general public. If you hold a current Unitec staff or student ID, you’ll be eligible for discounted rates to join or visit the facility.

Outside of bookings, gym members are able to access the stadium for free. Non-members wanting to access the stadium can pay per visit or purchase a stadium concession card. Costs are listed below:

Equipment for hire
Whether you’re a member or non-member, you can also hire equipment from us at an additional cost.
Hire our stadium
The stadium can host a number of sports events and activities, and can be booked for long-term, short-term or casual hire occasions.
Our stadium can be set up to provide:
- 6 x badminton courts
- 2 x basketball courts
- 2 x netball courts
- 2 x football or futsal courts

Real gym for real people!
Our fully-equipped Hammer Strength training area and Fitness Works machines – which include a Triple Crossover, Leg Presses and Prone Bench Row – gives you a great selection suited to any level of fitness or training goal. Amongst the variety of free weights, like Olympic Bars and Plates, Barbells and Dumbbells, you’ll find a few squat racks and Olympic lifting platforms for those who want to take their strength and conditioning training to the next level. If you’re looking to improve your functional strength, we also offer Power Bags, Medicine and Wall Balls, and Gymnastic Rings with Boxing Bags.
Try out our selection of world-class Life Fitness machines to get a good cardio fix into your day, including Concept 2 Rowers, Treadmills, Cross Trainers, Upright and Recumbent Stationary Bikes, as well as the popular Summit Trainer. Whether you’re wanting to simply burn fat, workout through interval training, or try your hand at hill climbing, you can choose different workout programmes from our cardio machines to meet your fitness needs.
Group fitness classes
We offer a range of group fitness classes to accommodate all levels of fitness, that are free for members. Non-members wanting to participate in these classes can pay per class or purchase a group fitness concession card. Looking for extra support to achieve your fitness and health goals? Our qualified Personal Trainers will work with you to achieve your goals. Gym membership options
We offer a variety of memberships at competitive prices, as well as casual entry and concession cards available for the gym. To see all the membership options and pricing, visit our membership options page.
We have a few simple rules for members to follow.
Download the gym rules
Music is played through wall-mounted speakers at the gym. The music and volume are pre-set to a suitable level for the environment. You can play your own music through personal devices, but headphones must be used and the volume must be suitable so it doesn’t disturb any other members within your vicinity.
*Please note that external speakers or playing music through your internal device’s speakers is not allowed in the gym or the bathrooms at any time by gym members.

At our front reception desk, we have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and First Aid Kit for use. If you have any injury or health concerns, please let a staff member know immediately.
We have a number of lockers available at no cost to members. Please make sure you bring your own padlock to secure your belongings. These free lockers can only be used during your visit to the gym and no belongings should be left overnight.
There is a small number of security lockers at our front reception, that are free for members to use. We strongly encourage members to use these lockers for small valuables like watches, wallets, keys, and mobile phones.
We have a select number of visitor parking spaces for gym members. You can get a temporary parking permit for 60 minutes, on arrival at the gym. Outside of that, parking is pay and display between 8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday only. After 5pm during weekdays and on the weekend, parking is free.
We also have disabled parking spaces available close to the gym for our members.
