How to Apply

You must apply to graduate in order to receive your Graduation Qualification and Official Transcript (regardless of your qualification).  

Your application starts the formal process which requires all applications to be officially confirmed by Unitec's Academic Board.  Applications can be processed even if you have not received your final results. 

Once your eligibility has been confirmed, we can provide you with your graduation documents at the ceremony, or in absentia (by post or collection).

Frequently Asked Questions

What date is the Graduation ceremony?

For those who weren't able to cross the stage in September 2021 and April 2022, we will be having a special celebration on Tuesday 20 September 2022 at Auckland Town Hall. More details to follow as we get closer to the date.

Do I have to attend a ceremony to receive my qualification?

No, you can choose to graduate in absentia and receive your certificate by post, or by collecting it from the Graduation Office.

I want to attend a ceremony and get my certificate in person, what do I do?

If you want to attend the Graduation ceremony to receive your certificate in person, please indicate this in your application to graduate.  Alternatively, please contact the Graduation Office if your circumstances change.

What happens if I don't apply before the closing date?

If you miss the closing date, we encourage you to apply in the next intake.  The next intake dates will be updated here following the graduation ceremony.

Student Debt with Unitec

Before you graduate, you must clear any outstanding amount with Unitec Student Finances. This could include library fines, international visas, international insurance, parking fines etc.

To check if there is an amount outstanding, log into My Student Portal using your login and password.

Letter of Completion

If you require a letter confirming the completion of your qualification before you receive your graduation certificate, please complete and submit the online form.
