Aim: 
This course will enable students to apply knowledge and skills in relation to structural pre-cast concrete units and the principles and methods to weatherproof buildings.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the New Zealand Certificate in Construction Related Trades (Main Contract Supervision) programme to enrol in this course.
Topics include:

- requirements as showing in contract documentation - requirements in terms of work site practice
- the planning process based on contract documentation - materials - construction methods
Foundation and sub-structure materials and construction methods
- types of foundations and sub-structures - materials - construction methods
Skeletal and structural components, envelope and interiors
- materials - construction methods - cladding jointing systems
Work to be done
- contract documents - abbreviations and symbols - quality, quantity and types of materials

- required materials - checking, confirmation and delivery processes
