Kathryn Billing, a structural steel welder at D&H Steel in Auckland, credits her family for sparking her interest in mechanical engineering. She completed a pre-trades certificate in mechanical engineering at Unitec in Auckland and recommends the program to school leavers interested in the trades.

Bachelor of Architecture graduate and Ngā Wai A Te Tūī researcher Keisha Rawiri (Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Hāmoa) has been awarded a grant from The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust (KEECT) which will contribute to her Master of Architecture (Professional) Project supporting the regeneration of Tau Henare Marae in Te Taitokerau (Northland).

The world’s top university, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has awarded Jacqueline Paul (Ngā Puhi, Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) a full ride scholarship. (This means one that covers all expenses, including tuition, books, fees, room and board)
