School of Bridgepoint

Welcome to Bridgepoint. We teach a range of programmes in bridging education, for recent school leavers and people wanting to change careers, and in language studies, where students improve their English skills or to learn to train people how to teach a language. We also offer a variety of language courses as well as liaison interpreting, if you want to make a career out of interpreting.

School overview

Bridging Education

Our bridging education programmes reflect a range of vocational pathways that give students skills and opportunities to get where they want to go, including Nursing, Early Childhood Education, Construction, Engineering, Business, Sport, Screen Arts, and Art and Design.

Our programmes have been designed to support our students to become effective members of their communities and the workforce. This collaborative learning environment is a place where students from many different cultures, age groups and backgrounds can build life skills that will sustain them, their families and communities.

Our lecturers guide students to develop the skills and knowledge that they need in order to progress academically and to build their confidence to achieve their career goals.

Language Studies

Our language studies programmes provide a diverse learning environment, with students from many different backgrounds and cultures. There are shared lunches, welcome ceremonies for new students, and student advisers who look after our international, refugee and permanent resident students.

We encourage students to practice what they learn in our language labs and English Language Centre. Some of our English language programmes include work experience, and our language teacher programmes include teaching practice and classroom observation.

The Language Studies group is also home to our award-winning IELTS Test Centre, where English language students can take the IELTS test right here on campus. Bridging Education students can also use this facility to demonstrate their English language ability for a programme of study or a job.
