Titled\u00a0He\u00a0w\u0101hine,\u00a0heaute, the\u00a0study navigates under the\u00a0framework of Onamata and Anamata, drawing upon the\u00a0ancestral voyages across the\u00a0Te Moananui-a-Kiwa and histories of settlement in Aotearoa. Through examining artefacts, such as Te Kiri o te Tane and Manu Tukutuku, the\u00a0narrative unfolds, intertwining with the\u00a0stories of Hina, the\u00a0atua of\u00a0aute. The\u00a0project reflects on thefoundational understanding of\u00a0w\u0101hine\u00a0M\u0101ori as kaitiaki of\u00a0aute, and\u00a0aute, like an umbilical cord, binds Te Moana-nui-a-kiwa and its people together. The\u00a0journey involves pruning trees, reawakening traditions, and contemplating the\u00a0integration of intangible and spiritual aspects of the\u00a0social life of\u00a0w\u0101hine\u00a0M\u0101ori, for example, in birthing practices.
