He Kahu Kōrero – Cloaks that Speak: A Love Letter to my Mokopuna
This exhibition is a celebration of the traditional practice and pedagogy of whatu kākahu. Cloaks that whānau Māori have made for their mokopuna, tamariki and whānau will be on display. This installation features taura kūtai (woven mussel ropes) made from harakeke gathered at Rangimārie Pā Harakeke and woven by Hinewaimarama Reihana-White, with support from John Kaulima-Panapa and members of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei weaving rōpū, Te Puāwai.
