This issue acknowledges the loss of two important and much-loved figures in the field, Dr Ian Shirley and Dr Wendy Craig. Articles cover the topics of Social Policy Units for community organisations, development in the Auckland suburb of Glen Eden, and an environmental social enterprise dealing with waste on Waiheke Island. David Haigh has contibuted two articles, one analysing the language used to talk about poverty in the Victorian era, the 1930s, and the period of neoliberalism from the 1980s to the present.
