Aim: 
To enable students to gain an understanding of general mathematical principles and equip them with appropriate engineering mathematical skills to solve engineering problems.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) programme to enrol in this course.
Topics include: 

1. Graphs and trigonometric waves
2. Algebraic expressions and equations.
3. Complex number forms, expressions, and equations.
4. Logarithms & exponentials.
5. Trigonometry.
6. Matrices and simultaneous equations.
7. Differentiation and integration techniques in an engineering context.
8. Differential equation techniques in an engineering context.
