Unitec's range of free and interactive computing courses helps you improve your IT skills, or enhance your business and professional skills. Courses are either offered at local libraries or community centres, or at our Free4U classrooms located in Henderson and our new Northern campus in Albany.

Computing short courses at local libraries

A range of computing short courses can be accessed throughout the year at various local libraries or community centres. These courses are only available during normal library hours.

To enrol please go to one of the locations listed below and a friendly tutorial assistant will help you enrol and start your course.

Free4U computing courses (Albany and Henderson classrooms)

Our Free4U computer courses are free and offer a great way to get into computing. They're available at our Free4U classrooms in Henderson or at our Northern campus in Albany. Our friendly facilitators will be on hand to assist you throughout and will provide you with resource books. There are no exams and no pressure – start at the level that suits you and complete each course over 10 weeks.

You can start from scratch with our introductory First Steps course or, if you already have some basic computing knowledge, develop skills in a range of popular computer programs. Each course is designed so that you can move from one level to the next, allowing you to develop knowledge as your confidence and skills grow.

These courses are designed for anyone who has a basic computer knowledge and wants to update or learn new skills.
