The following credit-bearing Bachelor of Communication courses can also be taken as one-off courses. You will join current communication students in class and undertake assessment projects as applicable. Once you complete the course, you will receive a Certificate of Proficiency and at a future date, if your application to join the Bachelor of Communication is successful, you may be able to cross-credit the course to the programme.

Digital Media and Communication Tools
This short course shows how computers are used to design, produce and deliver communication in traditional and online publishing. Learn to use basic computer tools to build works of communication in a variety of media, including text, images, numbers, sound and video. You also explore presentation techniques, desktop publishing, and social software such as wikis and blogs.

Academic Skills for Communication Studies
This short course will enable you to think critically and communicate effectively for academic purposes such as in essays and reports, and to conduct basic research procedures appropriate to communication studies. Explore how to structure logical arguments, how to do literature reviews/annotated bibliographies, how to develop a research proposal/question, and how to use databases and Endnote reviews/critiques.
