Where to Stay:
Unitec, Mt Albert campus is on Carrington Road, Mt Albert. It is close to the North Western Motorway, Western
Springs off ramp. Nearby suburbs include Point Chevalier and Western Springs. There is limited accommodation within walking distance of the venue. Delegates without a car may prefer to stay in
Central Auckland and use buses; this gives a wide range of accommodation options for a wide range of budgets.

If three or four delegates are staying in a central location it may be cost effective to share a taxi. Unitec is a large campus, be sure of which building or gate you require. Free shuttle buses run around the campus on weekdays. There are many bus services that run close to Unitec; buses that go down New North Rd, Great North Rd or Pt Chevalier Rd are usually suitable.

Bus services:
Saturday and Sunday services to Unitec, Mt Albert: (this is a selection of the large number of buses that

  • Downtown buses: leave from Queen St outside the CPO (Bus Stop 7093) Buses # 043 and 045, get off bus at Bus Stop 8019 (22 Pt Chevalier Rd). It is a six minute walk to Unitec, Gate One, Carrington Rd. From Albert St by Britomart (Bus Stop 7072) Bus # 049, (Bus Stop 7074)Buses #113, 087, 154, which go to 1174 Great North Rd, Mt Albert, (500 metre or seven minute walk to Gate One, Unitec).
  • Midtown buses: From M9 (Bus Stop 7100) outside Skytower take buses # 136, 198,163,080 to 1174 Great North Rd, (Bus Stop 8130) (seven minute walk to Gate One, Unitec.)
    Karangahape Road: buses leave from Symonds St S9 (bus stop 7162) Buses #224, 211, 212. 35 minutes to 896 New North Rd, (Stop 8230) then ten minute walk down Carrington Rd to Unitec.
    From KRd overbridge (BusStop 7134) near West Tce, take 045 to 22 Pt Chevalier Rd (BusStop 8019) and walk six minutes to Gate One, Unitec on Carrington Rd.

Weekday bus services:

  • Downtown: (Bus Stops 7044 D8 outside CPO, Bus stop 7054 at 280 Queen St) Bus # 043, goes direct to Carrington Rd (two minute walk to Unitec). This is the best bus, others go to 1174 Great North Rd or 22 Pt Chevalier Rd which are walks of approximately six or seven minutes.   • Midtown: Buses #113, 087, 154, goes from Bus Stop 7100 (Victoria St, outside Skytower)to 1174 Great North Rd, Mt Albert (seven minute walk to Unitec) , Bus # 219 goes via Unitec stopping in Carrington Rd, look for Gate One.

Trains to Mt Albert Station (10 minute walk)
Britomart Station, Queen St to Mt Albert Station, these are hourly at the weekend. From Mt Albert Station, walk down Carrington Rd to Unitec campus. www.maxx.co.nz for details and maps.
