Paul Woodruffe is a design lecturer with an industry background in art direction and design.
In 1979 Paul worked as an art director at Monahan, Dayman, Adams, designing promotional material and art directing television commercials.
In 1980 he was assistant art director on the film” Smash Palace” for Mirage Films, designing set props and graphic elements including period signage and the main vehicle design.
In 1988 he worked as a senior designer with Origins Design on graphic branding projects, and the following year for Computype to assist in integrating and networking of Apple computers in relation to typography and illustration.
From 1991 – 2003 Paul was a contract design consultant with GDS Ltd and taught part-time at AUT and MIT. He then joined Unitec as a part-time design tutor and went on to create and implement the new Certificate in Design and Visual Arts, of which he is Programme Director.
Paul is studying in the Masters of Landscape Architecture Programme at Unitec. He liaises with schools and the wider community, as well as teaching in the design programmes.
