Daniel Kellenberger is a Life Cycle Anaylsis [LCA] scientist. From 2000-2006 he worked as scientific collaborator for Life Cycle Assessment in the Ecology group at the EMPA, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research.
He worked on a Life Cycle Inventory database Ecoinvent (www.ecoinvent.com) and was responsible for the data of mineral building materials and processes. He also worked closely with the building industry in order to establish the data sets.
Having joined Scion in 2006, he now has nine years experience in the field of LCA and the built environment, biomaterials and biofuels.
Further projects include LCAs of plasterboard, processed timber and corrugated roof products for industry; an ecological and economical comparison of six newly built and two existing apartment buildings; the design of a sustainable chair; and a comparison of different biofuel options in New Zealand.
Daniel has also been published in international journals such as Building and Environment.
