Health Care Worker

This course aims to prepare those who have had little or no preparation for the role of a Health Care Worker and are currently employed, or about to commence employment with a Health Service.

This course comprises theoretical and practical knowledge and a section of practical experience in a specific Health Service setting. The practical component is completed throughout the twelve weeks of the course in the applicant’s workplace or alternatively in a workplace that is arranged for the applicant. The incorporation of both a generic component and a context specific component allows the course to prepare Health Care Workers for specific Health Service contexts (e.g. asthma; elderly care; surgical).
