
First Aid
The course aims to provide participants with a range of first aid skills, and includes cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. These two day workshops are conducted in a relaxed, interactive atmosphere with experienced tutors.
Topics covered include:
- Burns
- Shock
- Fractures and Dislocation
- Bleeding
- Soft Tissue Injury
- The Recovery Position
- Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Principles, Practices and Intervention of First Aid
- Health Promotion
- Safety and Prevention of Accidents
Fees:
- Public: $125 (incl GST)
- Existing Unitec staff and Unitec domestic students: $85 (incl GST)
- International students NOT enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing: $125 (incl GST)
- International students who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing programme at Unitec: Free

Location: Classes are offered at the Mt Albert and Waitakere campuses.
Assessment:
You are required to attend both days and demonstrate successful cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on a mannequin before receiving a First Aid certificate. First Aid Certificates are valid for two years from date of issue. The course is open to anyone aged 15 years or over wishing to obtain a First Aid Certificate.
