Community Development
Want to study in your neighbourhood? In Henderson or Albany? At the Department of Community Development – Te Pae Whanake we might just have the perfect programme for you. It’s education designed for locals – delivered locally. With programmes that meet the needs of the local community.
Free computing courses? Programmes that prepare you for a career in business or administration? Contemporary music courses? Training to become an interpreter? You asked for it and we listened. Now you can choose from a wide range of programmes right at your doorstep, at our Waitakere campus located in the heart of Henderson or at our Northern campus in Albany.
Community development is not just a name for us; it’s a passion. We want to help more people in West Auckland and on the North Shore develop the skills they need. That’s why we work so closely with local community organisations, to make sure we offer the programmes your community needs.
It’s a supportive environment, ideal for learners from all backgrounds and ages. Many of our students are new to tertiary education. Our certificates, diplomas and short courses are a great taster if you’ve never studied before. They’re also a great pathway into further study.
