Scholarships, Awards and Grants
To be eligible for a START Award you must be studying full-time in a programme at least a year long (i.e. over two semesters), and be studying in their first year at Unitec.
The $2,000 award goes towards the recipients’ course costs, at the end of the full year the award was applied for wihtin. For example, successful applicants who started their studies in semester 1 2014, will be awarded the monies at the end of Semester 2 or once all results have been collated. Please note payment may occur in January 2015.
The START Award monies will be paid out to the successful recipients provided they achieve passing grades to complete their programme, or achieve passing grades that allow them to progress to the next year of study in their diploma/degree programme.
Applicants must provide contact details for a referee we can contact, as a key part of your application. Please ensure you have your referee’s permission before providing us their details.
NOTE: The START Award is open to domestic Unitec students only. Students completing foundation courses here or elsewhere, and looking to apply for Diploma or Degree level studies, are also welcome to apply.
