(Please note – applications for 2012 are closed. Please check back soon for 2013 application details.)
Now you don’t have to wait until you graduate to get some hands-on work experience. If you will be heading into your final year of study in 2013, you can get to know how Information Services (IS) delivers value for Fonterra and gain hands on work experience in IS – all while earning a great hourly rate.
You will be in a real job at our offices in Auckland and have the opportunity to work with others within IS as well as internal customers. With support from a direct manager and one of our current graduates, you will be exposed to the wider IS group (including spending time “shadowing” senior people) as you work on a specific project. You will present your assigned project at the end of your 12 week internship. Last year’s interns projects included:
- Design and creation of an Enterprise Architect Sharepoint
- Improvement of our online service request system
- Development of a process management framework
- Rationalisation of Service Delivery workgroups creating significant cost savings
Fonterra may not be a classic “technology” company but our team of 900 IS professionals delivers an IS platform and anticipates business needs that support Fonterra’s commitment to be the world’s largest dairy exporter. Much of the day to day support and technical build is outsourced to allow the core team scope to lead business initiatives and innovation.
Qualifications
If you are studying Information Systems or Information Management or have a real interest in this area, and are looking for real experience in a large IS team that bring technology and business together, this could be the beginning of a great IS career. Our Interns are given first consideration for the Fonterra IS graduate roles.
To be eligible, you must have a valid and current work visa and be available for work in our Auckland offices. The programme commences with a Fonterra orientation mid-November 2012, and is for 12 weeks with time off for a Christmas holiday.
