Aim: 
To enable participants to appreciate the wider societal context and contribution of not for profit organisations In particular participants will identify and analyse opportunities and pitfalls in maintaining external stakeholder relations, in achieving social change and influence, and in working collaboratively with other organisations and across sectors.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Graduate Diploma in Not for Profit Management programme or the Graduate Certificate in Not for Profit Management programme to enrol in this course. Pre-requisite for GDNPM: CSTU5010.
Topics include: 

Role of civil society, community development, stakeholder mapping, advocacy and influence, machinery of government and processes for public policy, legislation and Budgets, policy submission writing, press releases, campaigns and tactics, social marketing, communication plans, dealing with the media, negotiating and managing alliances and coalitions
