Aim: 
To introduce students to the fundamental tax principles and apply them to entities in the New Zealand environment.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Bach of Business or Dip in Professional Accountancy to enrol in this course. Pre-reqs: (ACTY5206 or ALAF5206 or ACTY5206S) & (ACTY5230 or ALAF5230) & (COMM5530 or COMM5430 or BSNS5600 or BSNS5600S). Restriction: ALAF6208.
Topics include: 

Effective tax systems, direct and indirect taxation, tax treatment for commonly claimed deductions, tax timing regime, tax obligations for different entity structures, taxation penalties, FBT and GST,
